Base Rate:
$24.21/hour, commensurate with qualifications and experience

Summary:
Geauga County Job and Family Services is seeking an experienced financial professional to join our Fiscal team. This position establishes and maintains accounting systems, procedures, and policies to ensure the agency’s compliance with State, Federal and local regulations.

Job duties include but are not limited to: processing financial transactions such as vouchers, receipts, bank deposits, purchase orders, and accruals/obligations; reconciling JFS funds across various accounting systems; creating and utilizing fiscal reports; tracking grant activity; budgeting; analyzing data; preparing and monitoring contracts; preparing the biweekly payroll spreadsheet; arranging travel; and assisting other employees/vendors with the completion of fiscal forms.

Excellent attention to detail is a must. The successful candidate provides consistently accurate work and comes equipped with the skills to learn quickly, communicate complex information, and manage his or her own time under strict deadlines.

Requirements:
- Completion of undergraduate coursework in accounting, or equivalent education/experience
- Demonstrated experience in governmental fund accounting and related bachelor’s preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications with advanced capabilities in Excel
- Valid driver’s license, proof of insurance, and good driving record
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and FBI/BCI&I background checks
