Summary:
Geauga County Job and Family Services is seeking a dependable individual to join our clerical team and fiscal division by having scheduled, dedicated time in both programs. He or she must be experienced in a customer service or professional office setting, come equipped with the skills to quickly learn new computer programs and procedures, and use discretion in determining compliance with prescribed procedures or statues and resolve discrepancies.
On the clerical team, job duties include but are not limited to: covering the reception and switchboard operator functions; utilizing databases to gather and store information; banking, court filing, and mailing; scheduling appointments; conducting fingerprint background checks; monitoring office supplies; transcribing confidential recordings; and performing other entry-level tasks throughout the workday.
In the fiscal division, job duties include but are not limited to: posting a variety of accounting transactions to ledgers, journals, or cashbooks; making necessary mathematical computations for posting and maintenance of records and/or reviewing, coding, and processing invoices, receipts, vouchers, or other accounting documents; and tracking various accounts and assist obligees, obligors, and the general public with the handling of these accounts.
Punctuality is a must along with professional communication. The successful candidate is detail oriented, personable, consistently respectful of diverse populations, can work independently, and can carry a large workload with complexity and varied materials.
Requirements:
- Demonstrated customer service or professional office experience including reception and switchboard
- Highly proficient in common Microsoft Office applications: Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Valid driver’s license, proof of insurance, and good driving record
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and FBI/BCI&I background checks
